Marcus Burghardt (Zschopau, Germany) 25

 During a difficult year in 2006 stricken with knee injuries, Marcus learnt the darker side of being an athlete. But in 2007 he came back with a flying start and great success in the Spring Classics. He placed third in E3 Prijs Vlaanderen and went on to take the win in Gent Wevelgem with his teammate Roger Hammond placing second. In 2008 he will split his season into two halves with the first focus on the Classics and the second on the Tour de France.
