MICHAEL ALBASINI (29)
Michael joined Team HTC-Columbia in 2009. He brings strength in the mountains and the experience of three editions of the Tour de France. He is quiet and unassuming and very dedicated to the team and to the sport of cycling.
What are you doing when you’re not cycling?
I enjoy being with my family. I also like playing with my coffee machine to make the perfect cappuccino or espresso.
What do you like about riding for Team HTC-Columbia?
I will begin in February to ride for Columbia-HTC, but at the training camp, I got to know a sympatic team of perfectionists…
What is your greatest childhood memory on 2 wheels?
At 12 years, I climbed the Galibier to watch Indurain and Rominger at the Tour de France.
How did you get into cycling?
By my father, he was an avid cyclist and founded the Veloclub, with whom I did my first races.
What has been your biggest challenge as a pro cyclist?
To have more responsibility in the races.

My time trials in the stage 2007

What is your favorite comfort food?
Everything if I can watching TV or better: going out to a good restaurant

If I am in a good mood, nearly nothing. When I am tired or grumpy, nearly everything…
