Alex Rhodes (Adelaide, Australia) 23

Alex is a young rider with a lot of determination and drive. Coming from Alice Springs in Australia she has a quirky sense of humour and can definitely put on the outback accent. She is former junior world champion in the Points Race and has made quite a name for herself as a criterium rider, wining the Aussie National Criterium title three times in four years. Her tough character helped her recover from a near fatal accident in 2005. Her speed of recovery shocked doctors and she was back on the bike in no time, winning races and qualifying to represent her country at the Commonwealth Games. We will see great things from Alex in 2008.

Cyling is a special sport in that only one person is recognized as a winner but behind the scenes a whole team is helping them get there.
