Kate Bates (Sydney, Australia) 26

Kate is a talent on both the road and the track. Currently her focus is on track racing for the Olympics in the Points race, in which she is current World Champion. However, whilst doing that, her dedication to the team on the road is enormous. She is an extremely reliable teammate and pushes amazing power making her especially good in the flatter Dutch races. Her speed on the track also transfers to the road where she is good in the sprints. In her career to date she has won multiple National titles on the track and the road, has won Word Cup events on the track and hopes to add to those in 08 in the lead up to the Olympics. Her biggest goal for this season is to win an Olympic Gold on the track.
