The last couple of years have been extremely successful for Tony. In 2009 he enjoyed success at the Tour de France by holding the Young Rider's Jersey for mulitple days. He won a stage and the Mountains Classification at the Tour de Suisse, won German Cyclist of the Year, and showed his promise as a rising star in the sport of cycling.

In 2010 he cemented his reputation as one of the world's top time triallers, winning the time trial at both Tour de Suisse and Tour of California and placing second only to Fabian Cancellara at the Tour de France.
