Tony Martin (Cottbus, Germany) 23
Tony waited to join a professional team until his study to be a policeman was complete, but he has already shown his talent as a U/23 rider. In fact three years ago he beat our head sports director Rolf Aldag in an uphill time trial, so he definitely has the upper hand coming into the team. In 2007 he had a very successful year taking second overall in Tour de l'Avenir. He is a quiet person but he knows his capabilities and is a strong addition to the team for '08.

- 1st place Hel van Het Mergelland
Career Highlights
- 2nd overall Tour de l'Avenir 2007
- German climb champion 2007
Cycling is a special sport because the riders are responsible for themselves but they also have to work as a team and help each other. I also love the fans who watch from the side of the road. This is a feeling you can't get in a stadium.
In my first season in the Protour I can't imagine that I will have so much of my own success. I want to help my teammates winning races and get the strength to be prepared for a successful second season.
