2009 was  a very exciting and successful year for Germany's young Tony Martin.  He enjoyed success at the Tour de France by holding the Young Rider's Jersey, won a stage and the Mountains Classification at the Tour de Suisse, won German Cyclist of the Year, and promises to be a rising star in the sport of cycling.

2008 was an excellent year for Martin. In his first year on a professional team he excelled as a time trialer and an overall rider and team player. He won stages in the Tour of Germany, Ster Elektrotoer and he won the overall at Tour de l'Ain. He finished the year with a strong performance in the time trial at World Championships.

Cycling is a special sport because the riders are responsible for themselves but they also have to work as a team and help each other. I also love the fans who watch from the side of the road. This is a feeling you can't get in a stadium.
