Roger Hammond (Harlington, UK) 34
Hammond is a very instrumental rider on the team in that he can lead without making a noise. He is concentrated, calm and never complains. If he is around, it motivates everyone. He started his career winning a Junior World Title in cross racing. Since then he has been two-time British Road Champion, two-time British Cross Champion and has proven to be a great classics rider. He has come ever so close to winning Paris Roubaix and he still dreams about conquering that race.

When I joined the team in 2007 it was essentially a new team, with a very modern outlook on cycling. I have always been interested in innovative ideas. The management of this team has taken a step back, thrown out any preconceived ideas and started afresh, bringing new ideas from nearly all aspects of training and nutrition.
In a sport that has been rocked over the last few years with various doping sagas I do not expect anyone to believe me anymore when I say I am doing this sport naturally. With Team High Road's very public and very strict anti-doping policy it gives me the opportunity to hold my head high and be proud of what I achieve.
