HTC-Highroad's Matt Goss won his first race of the season at the Jayco Bay Classic. Outsprinting a field of top sprinters Goss timed the in a difficult uphill finish perfectly to take the win from Chris Sutton and Allan Davis.

Goss, who is racing for a team out of his home state of Tasmania takes the lead in the four-day series in Geelong and hopes to retain they yellow to the end. 

Goss's HTC-highroad teammates Leigh Howard and Mark Renshaw, racing for separate teams in this local event took 5th and 7th respectively.
