DEGENKOLB SIGNS WITH HTC-COLUMBIA

August 23, 2010
Following in the footsteps of current team members Tony Martin and Patrick Gretsch who both raced for Thüringer Energie Team before joining HTC-Columbia, German talent John Degenkolb joins High Road Sports as a neopro for 2011.

Degenkolb is current U23 German Champion and has had a very successful season winning the overall classification at Thüringen Rundfahrt and stages of Tour de Bretagne, FBD Insurance Ras and Tour d'Alsace in 2010 all at the age of 21.

"John has remarkable talent and well developed tactical skills for his age," says HTC-Columbia Team Manager Rolf Aldag. "He will be a good addition to our classics team and is also able to be present in sprint finals. We look forward to helping him develop over the next few years."

"I am very happy and I'm looking forward to the next two years with team HTC-Columbia," said Degenkolb. "I have the feeling that I have the best conditions at this team, which is going to help me to develop. I am going to take advantage of that chance. "
