Fahlin wins solo in Merced

Emilia Fahlin soloed to victory in the Merced Criterium today with her teammate Anke Wichmann taking third place. In the persistent rain, the best place to be was off the front. Fahlin attacked early in the race and was eventually joined by 5 others including her teammates Madeleine Sandig and Wichmann. With five laps to go, Fahlin attacked again opening up a convincing gap and was able to hold off chasers all the way to the line. She took her first victory for the season for Team High Road and Wichmann took sec ond in the sprint to earn third place.
