Luise Keller was successful in defending her German National Title today. Taking the win solo in similar style to the previous year, 24 year old Keller earned to honour of wearing National Champion jersey for yet another year.

"It's unbelievable," said Keller. "I can't believe I can wear the jersey for another year. I have to thank my team. It just goes to show again why cycling is called a teamsport. I only won because we worked so well together."

Boasson Hagen, Fahlin and Villumsen earn National Titles

Edvald Boasson Hagen, Emilia Fahlin and Linda Villumsen won their respective National Titles today continuing the stream of National Championship success for High Road riders.

Boasson Hagen successfully defended his Norwegian Time Trial Title winning the 50km race against the clock by a minute.

The women's team's youngest rider Emilia Fahlin achieved a career best winning the Swedish Road Championships.

After winning the Danish Time Trial Championships on Thursday, Villumsen came back today to win the road race, taking her fourth National Title.

Kirchen, Grabsch and Rabon win National Time Trial Championships

High Road's Kim Kirchen (Luxembourg), Bert Grabsch (Germany) and Frantisek Rabon (Czech Republic) won their respective National Time Trial Championships today. The wins give High Road five newly crowned National Time Trial Champions in the last few days with Marco Pinotti winning the Italian Championships for the third time on Sunday and Linda Villumsen winning yesterday in Denmark.

High Road's Linda Villumsen has won her second Danish National Time Trial Championship. Villumsen won the event in 2006 but wasn't able to race last year due to an injury at the time of Nationals. She was back on Thursday and beat the next best rider by over two minutes.

"When I first looked at the profile I thought the course would be too easy for me to have an advantage," explained Villumsen. "But it was very windy and never really flat so it became a really good challenge."

High Road’s Marco Pinotti won the Italian national time trial championships for a third time in his career on Sunday.
The 32-year-old stopped the clock for the 33 kilometer course in Montichiari, northern Italy, in 39 minutes 30 seconds,  1 minute and 22 seconds clear of runner-up Luca Celli.

“To be honest, I can’t say I was too surprised because I’ve never finished outside the top three of this particular event in the last five years.” Pinotti said. “After finishing the Giro D’Italia, I’d continued to stay focused, doing a couple of races in Germany and then going training in the Alps with [High Road team-mate Kanstantsin] Sivtzov.”

High Road's Ina-Yoko Teutenberg won her second stage of RaboSter "Zeeuwsche Eilanden" today, again beating Holland's Kirsten Wild in bunch sprint.

Winning the first intermediate time bonus sprint was a definitive moment for Teutenberg and team High Road, putting them in a position to win the overall tour as long as Teutenberg could win the final sprint.

"We also had some other hands to play with both Kate [Bates] and Alex [Rhodes] placing well in the prologue,"said High Road's Director Sportif Petra Rosser, "so we wanted to use those."

Cavendish win in Ster Elekrotoer

Mark Cavendish scored a strong bunch sprint win in the Ster Elektrotoer race when he romped home in first place on the final stage.

The Briton roared across the finish line a good two bike lengths clear at the end of the 150 kilometres stage in Germert, Holland.

"I went from a long way out, maybe 300 meters from the line.” Cavendish said afterwards. “But I had the strength and I just kept going and going. I could even put my hands in the air 15 or 20 meters ahead of the line because I could see I’d won.”

High Road's Ina-Yoko Teutenberg has won the second stage of the three day RaboSter "Zeeuwsche Eilanden" in a bunch sprint from race leader Kirsten Wild.

Wild had a lead of ten seconds over Teutenberg going into the first stage, after winning the opening 7.1km prologue.

"We wanted to play our cards today,"explained team Director Petra Rossner, "so we were pretty agressive and also wanted Ina to get time bonuses."

A powerful last minute updash for the finish line earned Kim Kirchen both the stage win and the overall lead in the Tour of Switzerland on Thursday.
With 125 metres to go on the summit finish at Verbier on stage six, the Luxembourg-born rider tore away from the main pack for his fourth win of the season.

Second overall last year in the same race - in a season in which he often placed well but victories proved more elusive -  Kirchen recognised that his win in the Fleche Wallone one-day Classic this April “has acted as a huge confidence booster.”

“Fleche has given me the motivation I need to shift up a level and start winning stages like here in Switzerland.”

Talented young German rider Tony Martin blasted to an unexpected but nonetheless welcome win in the six kilometer prologue of the Ster Elektrotoer stage race on Tuesday.

Averaging an impressive 52 kilometers an hour for the short but highly technical course in Schijndel, Holland Martin started mid-way through the field. 23-year-old Martin had to wait for over two hours whilst all the other riders finished before he was finally confirmed as the winner -  by a mere two second margin over Russian Nikolay Trusov.

High Road’s George Hincapie saw off the sprinters to take an impressive victory on stage two of the Dauphine Libere. After making an ultra-fast descent of the final drop-down to the stage finish Vienne, the veteran American staved off the peloton for a hard-earned win.

“We were initially working for [team-mate] Andre Greipel for the sprint,” Hincapie, who moved up to fourth overall and took his first win since the last stage of the Tour of California, said afterwards. That’s why we were waiting for him until five kilometres to go and we were not going with any of the attacks.”

Beltman wins solo in Philly, Teutenberg wins the Triple Crown

High Road’s Chantal Beltman won the 2008 Liberty Classic race in Philadelphia, with a jaw-dropping solo effort in the last lap. This win culminated a week of High Road victories, two by Ina Teutenberg in Allentown and Reading, Pennsylvania and four by Judith Arndt in Montreal for a total of seven.

All eyes in the peloton were on Teutenberg for most of the race, as she has been the victor here twice already. With temperatures soaring close to 100 degrees and high humidity, the conditions were brutal.  When Kristen Armstrong broke away during the first lap, the burden was on High Road to bring her back when she had more than two minutes on the field. The second time up the Manayunk Wall, directeur sportif Petra Rossner told the team to move to the front and attack up and over the climb to get across to Armstrong without towing the field. The move succeeded and broke up the field but eventually the peloton regrouped through the finish line.

High Road's Ina-Yoko Teutenberg successfully defended her title as winner of the Commerce Bank Reading Classic in 2007 winning the second round of the Triple Crown today.

Teutenberg has now won the first two rounds, with the the third and most prestigious race coming up on Sunday in Philadelphia.

High Road's Judith Arndt won her third stage of the Tour of Montreal and took back the yellow jersey winning the four day Tour overall. The win was Arndt's fourth win in six days including her amazing win the the Montreal World Cup on Saturday.

"Judith won today," said High Road director Petra Rossner. "But it was really the team that won today. They were all amazing."

High Road’s Ina-Yoko Teutenberg has won the first round of the Commerce Bank Triple Crown, which took place in Allentown, Pennsylvania today. Teutenberg went against the odds to win the race without the support of a team.

“I actually was not expecting to win today,” said a happy Teutenberg after the race. “Quite a few strong teams were on the start line and I was really wishing that I had a teammate with me.”

Arndt wins again in Montreal

After an impressive win on Saturday in the Montreal World Cup, High Road's Judith Arndt took another win today in the second stage of the Tour of Montreal.

Arndt attacked with ten kilometers remaining in the race and created a small breakaway group. With five kilometers she attacked again and managed to hold off the chasing peloton to win solo with five seconds to spare.

The High Road team ended the Giro d’Italia on a high on Sunday, taking a first and second double in the final time trial stage to Milan.

Italian national time trial champion Marco Pinotti won the stage and young Tony Martin of Germany was an excellent second. High Road missed out on taking the top three places by just three seconds as Britain’s Bradley Wiggins finished fourth behind Mikhail Ignatiev.
