At the end of day three of racing Morris Possoni has moved up into fourth place in the General Classification and into the lead in the young riders Classification, a great honour for the Italian in his home country.

With High Road finishing third in the opening Time Trial and Possoni finishing well in yesterdays undulating stage, he put himself into fifth place after stage two and moved up into fourth place today.

High Road's Mara Abbott has set a new course record in the Sunshine Canyon Hill Climb in Colorado. Climbing the 9.14-mile in a time of 49 minutes and 23 second, Abbott beat the previous record by over a minute.

The event, which climbs 3226 feet in elevation and has a maximum grade of 23 percent serves as the first race in a seven race series called the Tour of Colorado.

Judith Arndt soared into the World Cup lead on Sunday after clinching second place in the Tour de Berne round of the series.

“It’s a surprise, but a nice surprise.” Arndt said afterwards.  “To be honest, I didn’t even know that I could get the leader’s jersey today.”

After taking the leaders jersey on day one with Mark Cavendish winning the short prologue, High Road continued to have a successful run in Tour de Romandie finishing the tour with Marco Pinotti in third place in the General Classification and with Morris Possoni winning the sprint classification.

Ina-Yoko Teutenberg added to a successful Gracia Orlova for Team High Road today winning Stage Four from her 47km breakaway partner Adrie Visser.


The tour started well for High Road on Thursday with Mara Abbot taking a podium position in stage one and Luise Keller moving herself into second place in the overall classification after a long breakaway with race leader Marianne Vos on stage two.
