Arndt wins another stage of Montreal and moves into the race lead
June 04, 2008
High Road's Judith Arndt won her second consecutive stage of the Tour of Montreal this morning and moved herself into the overall race lead.
Arndt now leads the Tour from Nuenberger's Suzanne de Goede, with High Road's Kate Bates and Oenone Wood now sitting third and fourth in the General Classification.
The short flat 3.5km time trial was enough to alter the race classification and move Arndt into the lead. The team must now defend the jersey from De Goede during the time bonus sprints and stage finishes in both this afternoon's stage and tomorrows final stage.
"It will take some planning and a lot of hard work,"explained Team Director Petra Rossner, "but we have a few hours to figure out our plan."
Tonight's stage is a criterium in Montreal's Little Italy.
