Ina-Yoko Teutenberg added to a successful Gracia Orlova for Team High Road today winning Stage Four from her 47km breakaway partner Adrie Visser.

The tour started well for High Road on Thursday with Mara Abbot taking a podium position in stage one and Luise Keller moving herself into second place in the overall classification after a long breakaway with race leader Marianne Vos on stage two.

Today’s day three of the tour consisted of a 19km TT in Poland in the morning, followed b y a 67km stage in the afternoon. Teutenberg took second place in the Time Trial with teammate Alex Rhodes finishing third and also made the break in the afternoon.

The flat and technical stage was aggressive from the start and at the 20km mark Teutenberg attacked with DSB’s Visser. The pair opened up a 35 second advantage quite quickly and the gap hovered between 35” and a minute until the finish.

“I made a mistake on the last round about at 800m to go,” explained Teutenberg. “I took the outside line and Visser was smart enough to attack underneath. She opened up a 50m gap on me and I thought the race was over. “
“I gradually made up ground on her and with 200m to go I was in line with her and managed to pass her,” she added. “It was a false flat uphill so it took everything I had. I’m happy I was able to do that.”

Team Director Petra Rossner is extremely happy with the team is riding. “The girls pulled it off together today. They rode well all day to protect Ina’s breakaway. The roads were narrow and technical which helped the break. Two other teams chased for the entire race but weren’t able to bring the break back so it was a great ride for Ina and Adrie."
