From investment banking to world-class cycling, Evelyn Stevens is enjoying the ride of her life.
To say that Evelyn Stevens came our of nowhere to the front of the pack of world cycling is an understatement. After all, she didn't even have a bike until two years ago, shortly before her first big race - which she won, mind you, while still working her day job as an investment banker on Wall Street. Like a lot of young people who go from college to finance, Stevens was on track to get an MBA and then return to the Street at an even higher speed. But everything changed when her sister persuaded her to try a cyclocross race in California where she was visiting - the first time she'd been on a bike since riding to class in college. Then, in Manhattan, a friend lured here uptown to a bike clinic in Central Park. It was there that the 27-year-old was, to borrow a term from her former occupation, sold.|
